1. Rumus Simple Present Tense

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kebenaran umum (general statement of the fact) dan kebiasaan sehari-hari (habitual activities)

(+) He, She, It + V1 + s/es
(-) He, She, It + does + not +V1
(?) Does + He, She, It + V1 ?

(+) I, You, They, We + V1
(-) I,You, They We + do + not + V1
(?) Do+ I, You, They, We + V1 ?

Contoh simple present tense:

• My Class begins at nine
• I study English every night
• He always eats a sandwich for lunch

2. Rumus Present Continous Tense
Digunakan untuk menyatakan yang sedang terjadi saat ini.

(+) Subjek + am, is , are + V1 + ing
(-) Subjek + am, is, are + not + V1 +ing
(?) am, is, are + Subjek + V1 + ing

Contoh present continous tense:

• John is sleeping right now
• I need an umbrella because it is raining
• We are studying together

3. Rumus Present Perfect Tense

->Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan lampau (waktu yang tidak disebutkan) 

->Kegiatan lampau sampai sekarang

(+) S + have, has + V3/been

(-) S + have, has + not + V3/been

(?) Has/Have + S + V3/been?

Contoh present perfect tense

A. Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan lampau (waktu yang tidak disebutkan) 

• They have moved in to a new house
• Have seen that movie?
• We have visited Bali

B. Kegiatan lampau sampai sekarang

• I have been here since 7 o'clock
• She has liked a cow boy movie since she was a child

4. Present Perfect Continous

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan lampau samapai sekarang (ada kesamaan dengan present perfect)

(+) S + have, has + been + V1 + ing

(-) S + have, has + not + been + V1+ ing

(?) Have, has + S + been + V1 + ing

Contoh Present Perfect Continous

• I have been sitting here since 7 o'clock
• I have been studying for four straight hour
