1. Simple Future Tense
Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang akan datang

Rumusnya:
-> Untuk menyatakan prediksi
a.  S + will/shall + V1/be
b. S + am,is,are + going + to + V1/be

-> Untuk menyatakan rencana
(+) S+am,is,are + going + to V1/be

-> Untuk menyatakan keinginan
(+) S+shall/will+V/be

2. Future Continous Tense
Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sedang terjadi di waktu akan datang

Rumusnya:
(+) S+will+be+V1+ing
(-) S+Will+not+be+V1+ing
(?) Will+S+be+V+ing?

Contoh Future Continous Tense

• I will be Teaching at 2 o'clock tomorrow
• She will be working  at 7 o'clock next morning

3. Future Perfect Tense

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan pertama selesai ketika kegiatan kedua terjadi (peristiwanya terjadi pada waktu akan datang)

Rumusnya:

(+) S+will+have+ V3/been

(-) S+will+not+have+V3/been

(?) will+S+have+V#/been?

Contoh Future Perfect Tense

• I will graduate in june. I will see you in July. I will have graduated by the time I see you

4. Future Perfect Continous Tense

Sama seperti dengan future perfect hanya durasi waktunya ditentukan

Rumusnya:

(+) S+Will+have+been+V1+ing

(-) S+will+not+have+been+V1+ing

(?) Will+S+have+been+V1+ing?

Contoh Future Perfect Continous Tense

• I will go to bed at 10 P.M. He will get home at 12.00. I will have been sleeping for 2 hours when he gets home.

Rumusnya

Contoh Simple Past Tense

• I walked to school yesterday
• She bought a new car 3 days ago
• He called me last night

2. Past Continous Tense

Kegiatan sedang terjadi ketika kegiatan lain terjadi

Rumusnya

(+) S + Was, Were + V-ing -- When -> S + V2

                          atau

(+) S + Was, Were + V-ing -- When -> S + was/were + V1+ ing

                           atau

(+) S + Was, Were + V-ing -- While -> S + was/were + V1+ ing

• I was walking when It began to rain

3. Past Perfect Tense

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan pertama telah selesai sebelum kegiatan kedua terjadi

Rumusnya

(+) S+had+V2/been

(-) S+had+not+V3/been

(?) had + S + V3 / been

Contoh Past Perfect Tense

• My parents had already gone to bed by the time i got home.
• Sam had left before we got there,
• After the quest had left, I went to bed.

4. Past Perfect Continous Tense

Sama dengan past perfect continous hanya ada penekanan waktu saat kejadian

Rumusnya

(+) S+had+been+V1+ing

(-) S+had+not+been+V1+ing

(?) Had + S + had been + V1 +ing

Contoh Past Perfect Continous Tense

• The police had been looking for the criminal for 2 years before they caught him.
• He finally came at 6 o'clock. I had been waiting for him since 4 o'clock.

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kebenaran umum (general statement of the fact) dan kebiasaan sehari-hari (habitual activities)

(+) He, She, It + V1 + s/es
(-) He, She, It + does + not +V1
(?) Does + He, She, It + V1 ?

(+) I, You, They, We + V1
(-) I,You, They We + do + not + V1
(?) Do+ I, You, They, We + V1 ?

Contoh simple present tense:

• My Class begins at nine
• I study English every night
• He always eats a sandwich for lunch

2. Rumus Present Continous Tense
Digunakan untuk menyatakan yang sedang terjadi saat ini.

(+) Subjek + am, is , are + V1 + ing
(-) Subjek + am, is, are + not + V1 +ing
(?) am, is, are + Subjek + V1 + ing

Contoh present continous tense:

• John is sleeping right now
• I need an umbrella because it is raining
• We are studying together

3. Rumus Present Perfect Tense

->Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan lampau (waktu yang tidak disebutkan) 

->Kegiatan lampau sampai sekarang

(+) S + have, has + V3/been

(-) S + have, has + not + V3/been

(?) Has/Have + S + V3/been?

Contoh present perfect tense

A. Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan lampau (waktu yang tidak disebutkan) 

• They have moved in to a new house
• Have seen that movie?
• We have visited Bali

B. Kegiatan lampau sampai sekarang

• I have been here since 7 o'clock
• She has liked a cow boy movie since she was a child

4. Present Perfect Continous

Digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan lampau samapai sekarang (ada kesamaan dengan present perfect)

(+) S + have, has + been + V1 + ing

(-) S + have, has + not + been + V1+ ing

(?) Have, has + S + been + V1 + ing

Contoh Present Perfect Continous

• I have been sitting here since 7 o'clock
• I have been studying for four straight hour

Verb yang Memerlukan -ing di complement

Ingat bahwa kata kerja berikut memerlukan bentuk -ing untuk kata kerja dalam complement (komplemen / pelengkap).
